Where we begin

We start with a specific mission: protecting children and vulnerable people from human trafficking and exploitation.

Our organization brings together veterans, active military personnel, law-enforcement professionals, investigators, security professionals, and civilians who share a commitment to protecting those who cannot always protect themselves.

But our vision extends far beyond our beginnings.

Our vision

An independent, multinational investigative and public-interest organization operating throughout North America and Central America.

We envision an institution combining investigations, intelligence analysis, anti-trafficking operations, corruption investigations, human-rights protection, and public safety.

Its purpose would be to investigate the exploitation of people and the abuse of institutional power, regardless of who is responsible. That includes trafficking organizations, organized exploitation, corruption, abuse of authority, systemic misconduct, and violations of fundamental human rights.

A watchdog for the people

We believe government exists to serve the people. When individuals entrusted with public authority abuse it for personal, political, or financial gain, the public deserves an independent mechanism capable of investigating those allegations.

Our long-term vision is an organization with a legally recognized and independently protected mandate to investigate corruption and abuses of power, including misconduct within government institutions.

We would not exist to serve a political party, government administration, corporation, military faction, or individual.

Our loyalty would be to the people.

Human rights first

An institution entrusted with extraordinary investigative responsibilities must itself be held to an extraordinary standard. Our future organization would be built around:

  • Human rightsHuman life and dignity at the center of the mission.
  • Public safetyProtecting communities and the people in them.
  • Constitutional principlesRespecting the legal framework of every country where we operate.
  • Due processFair treatment for everyone, including those we investigate.
  • Evidence-based investigationsFindings that follow the facts.
  • Operational independenceAnswerable to the public, not to any faction.
  • TransparencyOpen about how we work.
  • Independent oversightOutside review of our own conduct.
  • Professional accountabilityStandards we hold ourselves to first.

No one above accountability

Our mission is not to place ourselves above the law. It is to ensure that abuse of authority does not place anyone above accountability.

Power must have oversight. Investigators must be accountable. Government must be accountable. And an organization entrusted with protecting the public must be accountable to the public itself.

No individual should be untouchable because of their position, wealth, influence, uniform, or political connections.

From protecting children to protecting people

Our name represents where we begin and what we refuse to forget.

A child being trafficked.

A victim being exploited.

A whistleblower being threatened.

A citizen being abused by someone entrusted with authority.

A community being harmed by corruption.

These may look like different problems. They share one element: someone with power is exploiting someone who is vulnerable.

Our mission

  • Protect the vulnerable.
  • Investigate exploitation.
  • Expose corruption.
  • Defend human dignity.
  • Protect fundamental rights.
  • Hold power accountable.

Our future

We are starting small. Our ambition is not.

What begins as an organization dedicated to combating human trafficking can, over time, grow into a multinational institution that protects people from exploitation and keeps those entrusted with power accountable to the people they serve.
